Our History
Wellspring Pregnancy + Health Center started in 1989 as AAA Crisis Pregnancy Center. It was located on East Side Blvd and offered pregnancy testing and options counseling. In 2001, it relocated to Crosier Park Business Center to expand services with an EWYL program and lending room. In 2010, the name was changed to AAA Pregnancy Resource Center.
In 2014, the Knights of Columbus offered the Center an ultrasound machine. Research shows that women who see an ultrasound picture overwhelmingly choose life. Accepting this offer would mean that the Center needed to become a medical facility and require additional space. Around the time the Knights of Columbus offered a machine, a suite adjacent to the EWYL suite became available, and with grant funding and private donations, the cost of renovation was covered. The Center opened for medical services in March 2016. Medical services offered are pregnancy testing, gonorrhea/chlamydia testing for both males and females (through the DHHS Nebraska Infertility Prevention Project and limited ultrasounds.
After the Center decided to add new services that also included services for males, it was decided that a name change would make the Center more inclusive. The name change came from Proverbs 4:23: “Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.” In 2018, the Center began offering HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis testing for clients that test positive for chlamydia and gonorrhea. All medical services offered are free of charge.
